Rosewood is a hotel brand founded in Dallas in 1979 by Caroline Rose Hunt, and owned today by Rosewood Hotel Group of Hong Kong, part of Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Its hotel in Hong Kong was ranked No. 1 on The 50 Best Hotels in 2025 and again in 2026. On 28 October 2026 the group announced its first homes in Bangkok: Rosewood Residences Bangkok, 85 freehold residences by SC Asset facing Lumphini Park.

How the list is made, and what it judges
The 50 Best Hotels, called The World’s 50 Best Hotels until it was renamed in September 2026, is voted by more than 800 anonymous hotel and travel experts across 13 regions, per Rosewood’s release of 16 September 2026. Seven Rosewood hotels are in the 2026 list of 100: Hong Kong at No. 1, São Paulo at No. 6, Hôtel de Crillon in Paris at No. 14, Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Mexico at No. 25, London at No. 56, Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany at No. 62 and Rosewood Bangkok at No. 70. The same evening the voters named Rosewood the Most Admired Hotel Group 2026.
The list ranks hotels, the experience of staying in one. It does not rank residences, and no residence inherits a hotel’s place on it. That is why we write that Rosewood Hong Kong is No. 1, and not that Rosewood is.

Who owns and runs it today
Rosewood Hotel Group belongs to Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, the private company of Hong Kong’s Cheng family, and its chief executive is Sonia Cheng, who has led it since the 2011 purchase. Rosewood describes its collection as hotels, resorts and residences in 44 destinations (September 2026).

The first Rosewood homes in Bangkok
The joint release of 28 October 2026 calls the project Rosewood’s “entry into the branded residences sector in Thailand’s capital”. That is the first we repeat.
Why we say Bangkok, and not Southeast Asia
In the same release Rosewood’s chief executive, Sonia Cheng, calls it Rosewood’s first residential development in Southeast Asia. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced Rosewood Residences Kamala, a villa estate in Phuket developed by Raimon Land, in January 2022. So we keep to the claim that stands on any reading: the first homes in Bangkok to carry the Rosewood name.

Still to be published
The price list, the sales launch date, the management fee and the length of the service agreement are not published yet. The last two decide what the brand costs to live with, so ask for them in writing before you reserve. Sales material in August 2026 showed a start of about THB 150 million; what the homes cost is set out, dated, in its own answer.
