What Capella stands for

Capella Hotel Group is based in Singapore. Its ten Capella hotels are built around one idea: a stay should be tied to the place it is in (Capella, 21 July 2026).

The ten are in Bangkok, Hainan, Hanoi, Kyoto, Macau, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei and Ubud (Capella’s website, archive copy saved in October 2026).

Capella puts its idea in its own words: “Our vision is to combine tradition, discovery, individuality and a twist of the unexpected, to create the perfect stay for each guest.” (Capella’s website, archive copy saved in October 2026.) Three parts of that idea come up again and again.

The Culturists

Capella calls them “part neighbourhood expert, part intuitive mind-reader”: staff who know the area and plan your days in it.

The Living Room

A shared space at the heart of each hotel that hosts workshops and activities, so guests meet the place and each other.

Auriga

“Auriga Spa, our signature wellness sanctuary inspired by lunar cycles”, Capella’s name for the spa in each hotel.

Capella also says its hotels are designed by world-renowned architects. This film, from the same series, is about the designers.

What changes when a hotel puts its name on a home

A branded residence is a home in a building that carries a hotel’s name and borrows its service. Capella says its residences are for people who like its hospitality and design and want the same at home.

Capella’s website says they are run by “a team of consummate hotel service professionals”, and that you can buy or lease long term (Capella Hotel Group, read 19 October 2026). Capella lists five places under the name.

“The Capella residential experience is more than luxury – it is about a sense of belonging to a place with deep meaning.” Roland Fasel, president of Capella Hotel Group, 12 July 2026.

What Capella says a Bangkok resident gets

A wellness concierge

Residents have a wellness concierge, personalised health protocols and a wellness specialist on demand.

A vitality checkpoint

A checkpoint where biometric monitoring becomes “as routine as a morning coffee”.

A lounge and wellness floors

Round-the-clock access to a residents’ lounge, and floors for social wellness and recreation with an infinity pool, a plunge pool, a spa suite and mindfulness studios.

That is Capella’s description (release of 19 June 2026). Fees, what is included and any membership have not been published.

Common questions

Is Capella Residences Bangkok the same as the Capella Bangkok hotel?

No. They are two separate places that share a brand name. The Capella Bangkok hotel is on the Chao Phraya River at Charoen Krung Road. It opened on 1 October 2020 and has 101 suites and villas (Capella release, 17 September 2026). Capella Residences Bangkok is a planned tower of 262 homes at the corner of Sarasin Road and Langsuan Road, opposite Lumphini Park, inside WellEra, the wellness complex that BDMS is building (BDMS release, 19 June 2026). BDMS says the building is under construction and targets 2030. The ranking in The 50 Best Hotels belongs to the hotel. The residences have no such ranking, and the hotel has no homes for sale in this project.

Who runs Capella?

Capella Hotel Group, a hotel company based in Singapore, runs Capella Hotels and Resorts, which has ten hotels, and a second brand, Patina Hotels & Resorts. Capella's release of 9 March 2026 counts 12 hotels across the two brands, and its release of 21 July 2026 counts ten under the Capella name. Roland Fasel is the group's president (Capella release, 9 March 2026). Capella's website says its residences are run by a team of hotel service professionals (read 19 October 2026). We found no published document that says who will run Capella Residences Bangkok day to day, or under what contract, as at 19 October 2026.

What is a Capella Residence?

It is a home in a building that carries the Capella name and borrows the hotel's service. Capella says its residences are for people who like the brand's hospitality and design and want the same at home, with a team of hotel service professionals, and with the choice to buy or lease long term (Capella Hotel Group website, read 19 October 2026). Capella's own website lists five places: Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Brisbane and Bangkok (archive copy of 11 October 2026). Each has its own developer and its own terms. For Bangkok, Capella describes a wellness concierge, a residents' lounge and wellness floors (release, 19 June 2026), and no fees, inclusions or membership have been published.

When can I buy a home at Capella Residences Bangkok?

BDMS has announced no public sale, and as at 19 October 2026 it has published no price or reservation terms. Its investor briefing of 19 June 2026 lists a soft launch in 4Q26, which BDMS has not defined, a sales gallery and show unit in mid-2027, and an opening in 2030. These are BDMS's plans, not a promise to buyers.
